I am new to Yahoo, and to the philosophy crowd in particular, not to mention an avatar that shows beauty-making & Yahoo Messenger to be specialties, the person to be at a high level, and with the outstanding best answer percentage of 71... all this makes me want to holler WHO is Enki???

I agree with bradley p , physic cat and moon and you too banshee. I will miss him terribly I hope that he doesn't say goodbye, I hope that he is only taking a break that is how I feel however as a true friend if he feels the need to leave for his own good or to work out something or if it makes him happier then so be it but at the same time I hope that he knows he can keep in touch even if it is only now and then. enki is a wonderful person for those who weren't lucky enough to have encountered him, I only knew him a short while now and I tell you when I realized that he was leaving I wept like a baby. Yes, he is that type of person who has such a profound affect on the people he meets. This is what i can tell you about enki: 1. he is highly intellectual and has very deep and provoking questions. 2. he is of a high caliber of a person most could only ever dream of achieving. 3. he has the most beautiful soul. 4. he never judges anyone only accepts them for who they are. 5. never seen him ever have a bad thing to say about anyone even the people who are j**ks. 6. he has a way of making each person feel special. 7. when you get to know him he has such a impact on your life that he becomes a prt of it forever. I could go and on but I won't because others would like to answer too. so I just like to say that I think the world of him and that I love him very much. I hope that he will choose to stay in my life forever because he already is a big part of it more than he could ever know. He will always hold a place in my heart and thoughts forever and now tell me how many people can you say that about that you have only known for a short while. I know I can't say it has ever happened too often, so that 'll tell you that my praise don't come often or very easily but for enki it does because it is the truth. I call him an angel of the earth and that is exactly what he is. much hugs and kisses enki, if you read this. forever in my heart and thoughts.

Exactly. I'm not sure why he's going either.
I mean, Yahoo Answers can be frustrating sometimes, but I always thought the *point* of people like Enki and myself sticking around was that well....we *weren't trolls* (ok, maybe not every *day*, *lol*) and do in fact think. Meaning we knew *somebody* had to stick around and be a good example.
Still....I for one will be sorry to see him go. Losing someone of Enki's caliber is worse than gaining a *dozen* new trolls, ok? You can get rid of the Stupid around here.....
But cultivating Wit and Intellect is so much harder. Either it's there or it isn't, and every smart person who leaves Answers....makes the place a little less bright, a little less clever, and in the end a LOT less interesting.
Take care and stay safe Enki....and I hope that you aren't gone for long. We need you....and I'd hope, at some level, that you'd need us too, once in a while.

So I take it this Enki person is a popular cat, who answers alot of questions and gives good advice? If thats the case then let them stay for all our sakes, but before that we must ask: Is this what Enki wants? if they want to leave, then I think it would be a better show of appreciation to just let them go... if not then send a petition, because there's sure a hell of alot of you who likes them

ENKI will still be with us, in heart and in mind. He only wants to pursue a dream away from where he is.. and used to be. Let's give all the support for that dream...wherever it may lead him. And keep the hope that he will always find the way back to this path where he has put a lot of his spirit on.

Enki has given so much: I've never seen so many rally to tell someone how much they care. His 360 is poignant with comments. Emails have been flying back & forth like paper planes, expressing their concern. I've been his friend for a very long time.
Now. I would suggest we take a deep breath, NOT email him personally, but make our comments on his blog. We love him so much, we don't want to lose him--but there's a certain amount of selfishness here, & the assumption that he's in crisis, (I'm as guilty as anyone).
We know that enki is wise, & of beautiful spirit. Consider that he's chosen to take a break from all his responsibilities, & knows exactly where he is. Let's wish him well & send BRIGHT & loving energy across the physical distance & let him be.
Some have emailed him, & been disgruntled that he hasn't responded to them. Give him a REST. He really doesn't "need" to be flooded with emails; just use his blog as he himself requested.
Of course I don't want him to say goodbye, but that is his choice & perhaps we need to better respect it.

As hard it is for me to say it, I do not think that it would be our place to ask him to remain shackled to where we would keep him, and where he might not want to be. If there are other places he needs to go to, other spaces he needs dwell and other sights he needs to see; then it is only best that we wish him well, and remember him warmly in our thoughts.
I will forever remain in gratitude for that day when I stumbled across his path some time ago, at one of the many crossroads that Y!A has to offer. If Enki feels that he needs to embark on new journeys, we could only bid him a fond farewell, lest he leaves with a heavier heart and an even more troubled soul.
My only hope is that he has packed his bags well with the essentials that he will need on his long journey ahead and that he only leaves when he is emotionally and mentally prepared, so he would not lose his way in whatever new ventures of his choice.
But I would like for him to remember and know that he is much loved here, and that we would always reserve a room inside our hearts to welcome him, should he ever feels the need to come visiting again. And we wait as patiently as we can, for that day when he might return…

enki is one of those rare people that make you appreciate Yahoo answers. If someone or something has hurt his feelings, I want to assure him that he is stronger and much more thick skinned than to let them or it drive a wedge between him and his friends. Remember the Roman adage, "keep your friends close and your enemies even closer."
We all journey down our own path calling it our life. We are joined by friends , foes and acquaintances as we go our way. But like any path, it has its byways, twists and turns. There comes a time when you must turn off from the main track and journey on alone, your own adventure to seek. Perhaps the rigors of life have said to enki, that time is now. If this be the case, I say, "Fare thee well my friend. May the road rise up to greet thee and the rain fall softly upon thy face. May the sun always shine warmly upon thee and the wind blow gently at thy back. May God hold thee in the palm of his hand. May fortune smile once more upon us and we meet upon the path yet again."
