I'd give up technology. All forms of it, except writing. Sound Amish much? Hmm. For one, I just feel we'd all communicate far better without it. Although I say this having 5 computers and 5 tvs and countless game consoles and mobiles in our house, among other things, so maybe I'm going a bit far.. but my family don't communicate now at ALL. It's like this in every other house I see now. Also, everyone is also obsessed with obtaining all these new tech gadgets. It's like, can't you have any fun or communication without it? I'd happily live without any tv and computer. I think cell phones are mostly needed, but really, I could do without it, I wouldn't miss it. If NO one used tech, I could achieve this want. But ofcourse It's impossible because technology is advancing constantly and no one wants to live in a world without it all. I sound old, I'm only 17 and everyone thinks I'm crackers. Oh well.
What do you think?

well first i don't think your "crackers". while technology is good and all, it really just separates us from our basic being. when technology ( here technology means the advancement in the unknown, ie. atoms, electrons since this is pretty much technological advancement in a nut shell) is introduced into a society, it not only has its "lazy" effects, it is also introduces a type of dependency on work. people have to make these things!
now saying that you would give up technology means you wont have the internet, which would not allow you to ask these sort of questions to the masses.
first of all we would not communicate as much. and second we would die easier, would it not be for the scientific advancement in heath care, which depends on technology. but that is the fear, right? we are afraid of death. and this is why we look for ways to prevent it. without technology you could easily die from some "treatable" disease.
i understand your question, but the truth is technology is just knowledge being manifested. therefore it will never be dismissed. you are still young. do not lose your perception.
sounding old just means you have knowledge, don't lose this. if you feel that the devices you use take away from your ability to communicate from your family, write them a letter. there are many ways to get to someone.
realize that you cant drive a car or send an email without technology. it is essential in getting fast and dependable information across a vast area.
although your view is sensible it cannot be seen as a reliable source of a new way to handle the problems of a progressional society. but it is a great brainteaser.

giving up the technology dont returns anything, else it adds hardships to our life since now we are so dependent on it. we are using these technologies in each and every steps of our life...... as we can say that every good thing has some certain disadvantages which makes us disappointed. but if we move towards the better things that has make our life easier these disadvantages are feeble. we lack a communication among family in our home but this technology is the only thing which can keep us in live touch with family when we are far away from family. for example just tke a simple phone we can have a live chat with family even we are in the two extreme corners of this earth. so technology has become like a basic need of human beings without this our life will be hard rather then a nice one.

Well, I wouldn't go up to the extent of giving up technology. This is because technology has enable widespread communication around the world and this facilitates many activities such as trade. Also, this is the reason why you can ask for opinions here on Yahoo! Answers. I may be able to go without technology, but I think it should be preserved for convenience and betterment of mankind.
If I were to give up one thing, I would probably give up paper. Paper usage really damages the environment when numbers rise to an excess. There is an alternative for such, which is computers. Information should be stored in computers as this is more convenient. For eg, schools can adopt the usage of e-books to conduct lessons instead of using textbooks.

I was just discussing technology with my brother a few minutes ago…we feel that technological advancement has done so little for humankind with the exception of extra time to invent more gadgets. As we proceed creating more sophisticated communication devices the lesser we communicate. We relay so much on technology but we are lacking to become conscious of this simple fact: what we create originates from our ability to conceive the idea in the first place therefore we can skip the machines if we explore the vast potential of our mind to perform the tasks assigned currently on devices and gadgets.
And that is the one thing I’ve given up forever… mental ignorance and spiritual inertia…

I'd give up commericals. The commercials of today use nothing more then cheesy gimmicks to sell stuff. Commercials should be more like the way they were in the 80's. More informative. Todays commercials, when seen, just use some corny ad to sell something. And from what I've noticed, they rarely talk about what a product can do, only how much it costs and where it can be found.

I did live without any tech at all for years, in other states, when I was young. My kid never had a computer or games or a TV (or electricity!) in the house til it was 10. Now that's all completely enthralled the kid, all the tech you mentioned; and the 'puter has me for a while. I still don't use TV.
Life is strange, a wonder to behold.

Haha, I dun think ur crackers. It's normal for you to think so, because you love your family. I admire you for that because very few people these days manage to care anymore. But I also agree that your wish will never come true, sadly. And I do care about technology, because if there wasn't, could you even ask anything right now on Yahoo answers? xD. If there was one thing I wish to give up forever, I think it would be my sanity, because if you're insane, you won't even care about this stuff, you see I'm already partially insane, lol.

you purely responded your own question. yet once you pick for to talk faith a thank you to you already know Jesus is unquestionably God how do you already know he's not the fake Prophet church homes pass on approximately. additionally Why might a ethical god deliver human beings to hell for no longer worshiping him. that's no longer love. If I could choose for a faith i choose for one that has a God that loves me for me and isn't any longer a egomaniac that calls for to be worshiped. i substitute into raised Christian yet left that concept and have not have been given any doubt that Christianity is Blasphemy against God. You pontificate God is a ruthless sadistic tyrant who in user-friendly terms enables you to discover peace in case you compromise for him as your grasp and sends all others to everlasting torment. Now tell me precisely how is the devil the undesirable guy?
