Hi there! My 18 month old baby climbed over a high chair and fell over to onto the carpet (a 4-feet fall) landing on his right-hand/arm last night. We took him to the A&E immediately and after the X-Ray, it revealed he had a fracture in his elbow but the bone wasn't broken, just disjointed ('clean-cut' I think was their technical terminology). No wonder he cried for almost 4hrs, poor boy. Just wanted to ask if anybody knows how quickly this will heal and when he'll be back to his usual self? The doctors have given him a half-caste plaster and sling and he seems much more happier this morning. We have a meeting with the Fracture Clinic tomorrow morning but anxious on any information people might have which hopefully will put our minds at rest. The joys of parenthood, I know! Thanking you in advance for any advice you may be able to give on his recovery process, thanks

The human body is an amazing self healer. Plenty of milk will help.

If he did not break any bones, did he detach any soft tissue?
If he did it may be necessary to surgically reattach it so he will be able to flex and extend the fore arm.
After the operation it will take between 4 to 6 weeks for recovery.

raw milk, cod liver oil and high vitamin butter oil. The claims made about the combination of cod liver oil and butter oil are remarkable. My recent experience (all be it with dogs, recovering from snake bite and tumour removal surgery) seems to back up the claims though.

i knew a little girl around that age who broke her arm, and she had the cast on for a few months. i cant remember exactly how long. but little ones can heal fast if it is caught fast enough.

A few months or a couple weeks. Depends on how bad it is.
