Here we're changing 88 ft/sec to miles per hour.
Two conversion factors are used: 1 mi = 5280 ft, and 1 hour = 3600 sec
You can cancel units the same way you cancel numbers.
For example, the two ft's cancel out and the two s's cancel out and all you're left with are mi/hr.
Now, lets look at the numbers. The zero in 5280 can cancel one of the zeros in 3600. If you continue canceling all other factors you will be left with 60.
That's your answer: 60 mi/hr
The numerical part can also be done with a calculator:
88 divided by 5280, and multiply the result by 3600.
