Each of those items a scientifically classified as insulators. They are quite good insulators and are use as such in many applications.
Any contaminate insulator may become conductive but that had no bearing on the scientific properties of the pure product.
sai2020 - Sparks in switch and transformer oil all the time. It is only a problem if oxygen is present.

Oil,petrol,water and kerosene are all make up of covalent bond as they are covalent compound,they do not conduct electricity.

Water itself does not conduct electricity, but there are ions in water that do. Plus, any impurities (ei. salt) will conduct electricity.
Metals are the best conductors of electricity; wood, rubber, and glass are the best resistors (will not conduct electricity at all).

they are non-conductors of electricity...
but dont try that..if u put a spark in kerosene or petrol it will explode...
