First wake the parents and let them deal with this !
The "don't think the parents are awake" thing could be at the heart of your "thing" here ! One of them could have easily stirred for some reason ! But, safety before sorrows --- take this "whatever" to them !!

I'd wake up my boyfriend...especially if our dog started barking. In your case, I'd get off the PC and call the parents with a cell phone since their room is so far away.

tell your parents and if you have a phone in your room and you don't want to leave your room call police... better safe than sorry!@
Intruders dislike a lot of lights so turn on your lights and make alot of noise yell out side that there's someone in my house!@ That'll make them leave if they are there anyway!

Call the police if you think if someone is there. You will not get in trouble. If they check things out and things are fine, you will not get in trouble. They may even tell you to call again if you hear something else.

Wake them up if you can without alerting the possible intruder.
If you can't then call the police. Better safe than sorry.

no you won't get in trouble if you call the cops and it is a "false alarm". over half of all calls to the cops are false alarms. they are used to it. if you don't feel safe, call them! that is the sole reason for their existence!
