Are you talking about Dragon Quest 8? Locations of Orichalcum:
The first one is available at Princess Minnie's Castle when you get 83 Mini Medals. You can also steal it from Metal King Slimes after learning to fly. The next time you can get one is at The GodBird's Eyrie in the light world (after you can fly). Once you get to and complete the first part of the final Boss battle you get 3 more (2 in containers and one from a sub-boss). After completing the game you can steal it from the Pandora's Box.
