Example:
1st day: 1 cent
2nd day: 2 cents
3rd day: 4 cents
4th day: 8 cents
5th day: 16 cents
6th day: 32 cents
and so on and so forth for a period of 60 days?

You might do the math, and be really surprised just how much money you would be earning in 60 days using this formular!

So, would you still be willing to hire me?

PS. This isn't "fuzzy math" people, but it is very interesting!

Thank you,

Yes I would be the richest person in the world, but never the ruler of the world.

But I would be "ONE HAPPY CAMPER"!

Jun Arguda: Your too kind! 3 meals a day. Gosh, your really being so generous, how could I refuse such a fantastic offer, except with this:
You pay me $25K (usd) a day, and I will forgo the 60 day term limit, this is just a personal favor to you, since you have gone out of your way to be so considereate to me, friend!

Of course.... not
this is a geometric sequence which has a common ratio of 2
so sum=a1(r^n-1)/(r-1)
=1(2^59-1)/(2-1)
=2^59-1
WTF
2^10=1024 = $10 day 11
2^20=1048576 = $10k day 21
2^59=(1024^6)/2 day 59

who the hell would you be to be payed that much?

*edit*

that would be 576460752303423487 cents
which is equal to $5,764,607,523,034,234.87
you would be richer than bill gates, you would be the ruler of the world

what Scott J said... this is the power of an exponential function. It starts off slow, but then look out! for you scenario, 8 hours / day for 30 days ==> 240 hours on the 8th hour of the 30th day, you will get 2^240 cents, and will have a total of 2^241 - 1 cents all together that's enough to bankrupt any company! (even Bill Gates and Microsoft!)

It's really tempting but if I do so then on the 60th day you'd be paid $0.01*(2^60) or $11,529,215,046,068,500.00. I'll give you a lifetime offer. Why don't we renew our contract every week? At least, with this you could still continue after 60 days and I could add to your benefit 3 square meals a day for free.

no, i would not hire you. but i would let you use me as a reference. then i could be your agent, and my only fee would be your pay for day 60.

no, because this rate of increase in pay is exponential and keeps doubling
