Removal of garbage and processing them in centralised places is an unpleasant job. Any country having any other method? Why not destroy garbage using powerful heaters(either solar or electric) at every house/ colony. I feel this invention deserves Nobel prize.

How much greenhouse gas would this put into the air, air that is already polluted enough. With the glaciers melting, the Polar Bears going into existence, I wouldn't mention this to anyone connected with Green peace and, Nobel prize? I don't think so.

This is nothing more then burning garbage years ago, they stopped because of pollution, who wants to smell someone Else's garbage?

Actually, your question is valid.
There are uses for burning some garbage that would benefit the ecology. For about $350 you can convert a diesel engine to a used vegetable oil engine and it will get better mileage than it would with regular diesel fuel. I saw this on the Discovery Channel.

Everyday household garbage, however, is a mixture of materials that are toxic and harmful to the environment when burned and materials that are probably ok to burn and would save alot of space in lanfills (not to mention keep alot of polutants out of the water table). To seperate the two would be time consuming and expensive. It would also require the offending species to give a damn about the only planet nearby that's habitable and to go the extra mile to get this done.
Having studied the give a sh@t level of said species for 41 years, I can assure you that it won't happen, ever.

Here in Mi there is a power plant that incinerates garbage to produce electricty. It saves landfill space and powers homes. The downside is that it emits toxic pollution into the air.

The idea is childish. However I can quite appreciate the impatience of the questioner but that does not permit us to make the solution worst than the problem.

Most answerers have given quite mature answers. That of Whota thun kit is the more comprehensive .
