In the episode where she loses her voice, she has a dream about her dead mom. Her mom hugs her, and Miley goes, "I miss your hugs, mom". Every time I see that I get misty eyed. I mean, it is kind of cheesy, but that's such a deep line about death for Disney Channel. It makes me sad that the character doesn't have the privilage of hugging her mom, while I can do it whenever but don't take advantage of it.

no it's not stupid (= it shows that you're sensitive and not a self-centered person. (which are good) some people get emotional very easily while others don't. it's just an emotion, so it's okay.

It feels like it's supposed to be stupid, but really, it only shows that you are sensitive and empathetic. I'm in my mid thirties and I have been sensitive like that all my life. No matter how stupid the movie or program, every now and then a scene will catch my attention and I choke up. As a kid, I once cried when I saw a pig in a cartoon who cried when he got crowded out during feeding time. I felt stupid for crying about it, but, as you know, sometimes it will just hit you and you have to feel for the character.
My daughter loves Hanna Montana. I don't care for Disney shows but I'll have to admit that Hanna is one of the better ones. I haven't seen the one you mentioned, but I can imagine the scene you described and it sounds very moving.
Don't feel silly for getting misty eyed when you see something that moves you. Be thankful you are a sensitive person who is empathetic with other people's feelings.

It's never stupid to cry because you feel sympathetic towards someone, even if it's a fictional character. You are just being compassionate, and that's a good thing.
Don't listen to the answerers who think you're stupid.

Of course that's not weird! No matter what show it is, it's always sad and intense to witness something about a lost parent. I don't see how that couldn't be sad.

No, the theme had some emotional connection to you. It's normal actually and what shows count on to keep people watching.
