Yes they are real, but they are not ghost they are called spirits. Spirits are always 2 feet above ground that’s why it seems as though they are floating around but really the spirit world is just above us if you want to know more about things like that you should read some books written by Silvia Browne.
P.S. If your asking because you see or hear them and don’t want to you are suppose to simply speak out and let them know they there are dead and need to cross over, because those who still walk around out here don’t actually know that they are dead and seem to feel lost.

Yes. Seeing a ghost is a real human experience. I suspect that ghosts associated with hauntings, crisis apparitions and seeing your deceased relatives may all have different explanations. The term apparition used to mean the visual image of person that you know to not be physically present at your location was used as far back as 1882 in order to attempt to be more precise than the word ghost.
If a ghost is the surviving spirit of a person, a recorded memory impressed in the atmosphere, or access to a collective consciousness (all ideas to explain ghosts) is something that science has not yet determined.
Dreams and emotions are real and do not posses a physical structure so are ghosts material objects? most experiences suggest they are not.
However, quantum physics has proved that most material objects are also mostly empty space so....
For further information I suggest the following:

What we call ghosts are very real, and they can be explained in so many different ways...
We live in a Miltidimensional Universe, so what we call a ghost is a vision from either the past or the future, and that is a vision from only one dimension...
I recently read about a recording of a ghost screaming, and after annalising the scream it was said that it was not human..
You see, we can scare ghosts too, as their world is as real to them, as ours...
I have had many experiences with the other sides over the years, and I feel pretty OK about it all..
Blessed Be... )O(

Yes they are!!!! who could doubt it?????
Ghosts are spirits with unfinished business to do, like warning someone close that an 'accident' is coming.....
Ghosts are left to roam the Earth, transparent, and almost always scaring people. Ghosts would not like that, especially if they were good before they died!
So, yes, GHOSTS EXIST IN REALITY NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS

There's a ghost that knocks on my bedroom door when no one else is at home but me. It's always two knocks. And it's not my imagination because once my nephew and I were watching TV in my bedroom and the two knocks happened and we both turned our heads to the door. No one else was home.
Also, sometimes when I'm home alone, the garage door opens and shuts loudly. It has to unlatch itself, open and then slam shut.
Plus lots of other stuff has happened so I do tend to believe in our little ghostie.

Absolutely!!! I have something in my house that would probably be classified as a poltergeist. It move chairs in order to make a lot of noise. It will jump on the bed just like a cat. I don't have a cat! I think some people are more sensitive to these things. I have learned not to be scared of these things, most of the time I just ignor them.

Probably not. Take a class on psychology, and really pay attention to the things that can go wrong with the normal human brain. It's amazing how much your eyes and your mind can play tricks on you. You can't trust your own memory half the time.
Most ghost sightings happen in dark rooms, when someone is expecting to see something, so their mind can turn the littlest things into a full-fledged but nonexistant ghost for many reasons. We like to see order in disorder, we like to make sense of out nonsense. An odd noise coupled with a strange flash of light and our own fear makes a ghost, but really it's just our minds trying to make sense out of random happenings, trying to give them one cause.
EDIT: *sigh* and I just have to say it. There is no convincing scientific evidence for the existence of ghosts. Don't be fooled by thermometers and electromagnetic anomalies. There are so many strange things in the natural world, why resort to the supernatural to explain something?
