i was sparring earlier today and caught big straight to my nose. i t started to bleed alot for like 2-4 min then the blood started to stop rushing out of my nose but whenever i put a napkin up there i see blood on the napkin, its not crooked and i dont see swelling nor bruised eye. just when i try to push the sides of my nose it hurts but theres this tiny bump on the bridge a really tiny one where you cant even see it and have to touch it to feel that there is a bump. when i roll my finger down the bridge of my nose it doesnt hurt as much but when i press it it hurts but not much but then when i look into my nose with a flash light theres this straight line cut on the top on the inside, its not a long one just a short one and its the same place where the bump is. also this is all happiningin my right nostril my left nostril is fine only when i push either side it hurts

I broke my nose while trimming trees, i shouldn't have looked up...It was painful and both my eyes turned black...If you think you broke it, go to the docs, nothing much they can do but at least you will know...I cant breath out one side of my nose because of the break, i need to have surgery, but I'm a big chicken...

well that exact thing happened to me! not the same way, but the same syptoms u r feeling, it is called a deviated septum, i do gymnastics and i had just gotten new grips and was told to break them in but my left hand slipt whiling i was doing this thing called a stoup where u have to go around the bar while ur legs r on it and my left grip slipped, i crashed down on to my head but before i did my knee bang my nose on the right side, i was crying llike crazy and it hurt like all hell fell down on me. so when i looked in the mirror i though my nose was crooked but it was just really swelled up, and my eyes werent black and blue. so i put ice on it and went to the doctors they took an x-ray and said it was just deviated, deviated is just a big word for slightly shifted to where u could only see it on an x-ray. im supposed to go to an ENT (ears, nose and throat doctor) to get it cracked with a hammer so breaks, then realign it and fix it up, but my mom says its no biggie, but ur nose is definety not broken wait till tomorrow to see what happens and if its not bruised or anything but sore i would still go to the doctor anyway just to be safe, but yeah it is going to hhurt for like a week at the most. Also after 2 days under myeyes started turning yellow, so i you see that there is definetly somthing wrong with ur nose.

I would say that unless you end up with more swelling and/or black eyes the chances of your nose being broken are slim. I've broken mine twice and both times resulted in two black eyes, with lots of swelling and pain.
Use cold compresses to reduce swelling and pain, and don't try to blow your nose for a day or two to let the broken blood vessel (the nose bleed) heal.

Broke my nose three times all I can say is it hurts like a well you know. I can't say for sure wether or not yours its but it sounds as if you just have a cut inside your nose and maybe some minor injury to the outside from the punch itself. If you are concerned though you should see your physician they can straiten it for you although it is painful too.

I think a broken nose swells up a lot. If it doesn't seem like it's getting better in the next couple days, I'd see a doctor.

ok, i dont want to seem like a smart *** but how are we to tell you if you broke your nose or not? First of all.. ANYONE can play doctor on here. Not EVEN A DOCTOR CAN TELL YOU IF ITS BROKEN without viewing x ray films which OBVIOUSLY WE on Yahoo ANSWERS cant possibly do haha well for the exception for the one guy up there who has one haha! But comon .. dont you think you need to see a doctor in PERSON for a correct diagnoses?

usually when the nose is broken you will wind up with two black eyes other wise your just bruised and you'll feel much better in a few days to a week.
