How often do you ask your boss for a raise?

I don't have a boss right now, but if I did, I'd ask him for raises if my responsibilities increased and stress levels changed.

I work as a waitress, we only get raises when the government gives a raise to the minimum wages

You grab him by the shirt collar, jerk him up out of his overpriced chair at his overpriced desk, hold a 38 special to his head and say "Listen man, you give me a 10% raise by my next paycheck, or the next time I come in here, this will be loaded!!" If that doesn't work, maybe talk to someone above him.....
