With free and open frontiers, we get a counterbalancing force to the tendency of governments to become bureaucratic dictatorships. Without it the whole world winds up in a totally controlled society like China and Japan used to be and probably still are. AKA Big Brother.

Why do we have to spend any money on anything? What is wrong about saving that money and/or paying off the debt that America owes? Not a good enough reason? Fine, then use that money to repair our infrstructure or help the poor get on their feet?

Human rights and making the world a Better place to live. I would spend money in Darfur where innocent people lose their lives everyday. I would spend my money in Somalia where kids hardly get something to eat. I would spend my money in Africa where HIV has affected more than a million people.

8 billion on public transport, cleaner fuel, space exploration and over all education

Second, alternative fuels, so we can be independent of foreign oil, and watch the moral policed theocracies, that supply it, crumble and fall.

Rebuilding New Orleans to its original state since some people are still homeless after Katrina hit. OR we could have helped third world countries kick it up a notch and become second or even first world countries. Money should have also been spent on education.
