"For the man is not of the woman, but the woman of the man. Let the women keep silence in the churches, for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, so saith the law. And if they learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home; for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

I Corinthians 11:3, 7, 9)

What a shame that women follow a religion that scorns them and hates them.

I'm male but just permit me point out some things.

It is like you mixed two different verses for I don't see all you have posted in the the chapter. Here are some of the examples and they are taken from the verses you have chosen:
1st Cor 11:3= But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
1st Cor 11:7= For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
1st Cor 11:9= Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
You mixed 1st Cor 11 with 1st Cor 14, so increasing the chances of taking the verse out of context.

I don't know how church services were organised in the apostolic days, especially in the church of Corinth. This is because most of the letters of Paul concerning women are directed to the Corinthian women (and these are the letters that feminists use to attack the Bible). After these people, it's Thimoty.

Look now in the churches these days: during service, the congregation is silent and hearing from the preacher. The highest thing the congregation does is thanksgiving e.g singing praises and offerings. This is based on the quote that ''The Lord is in His holy Temple; everyone should keep silent." and also '' Let all things be done decently and in order" After service, any inquiry, the pastor is there for your aid.

This is from http://www.gotquestions.org/women-silent-church.html
The context of 1 Corinthians 14:33-35 is talking about interpreting and understanding the gifts of tongues and prophecy (1 Corinthians 14:26-32). Therefore, 1 Corinthians 14:34 is not commanding women to be absolutely silent in the church all the time. It is only saying that women should not participate when tongues and/or prophecy is being interpreted and tested (1 Thessalonians 5:19-22; 1 John 4:1). This is in agreement with 1 Timothy 2:11-12 which says that women should not teach or have authority over men. If women were involved in deciding whether a prophecy was truly from God, they would be disobeying what the Bible says in 1 Timothy 2:11-12. Therefore, Paul tells women to be silent when tongues and prophecy are being interpreted so that they will not be disobeying God’s Word.

Women, just as much as men, are called to minister to others, to demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), and to proclaim the Gospel to the lost (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; 1 Peter 3:15).

Religion changes with the times, much as many theists would like to think otherwise. There are passages in the Tenach which justify-- even encourage-- slavery, but Christianity no longer supports slavery.

Interestingly enough, most of the "bad" rules are in the Tenach, which some Christians use to justify all sorts of hatred despite the fact that they don't keep kosher, but most Jews I know are tolerant of homosexuality and are pro-choice. Funny how that works out.

I'm not saying that all Christians do this; there are many cool Christians that understand that the Bible was written a long time ago, and that religion, as a matter of the heart, should not force one to believe something that one does not.

This was never an issue of shame or contempt (much less sexism). It simply had to do with orderly behavior in large group settings. What happened to initiate this was that women having experienced a new level of freedom in church, were now asking their husbands questions during the service itself, to the point of being disruptive. The imperative of orderly behavior is binding upon everyone, male and female.

**** One thing I'd like to share with you about that question (and every other you will encounter throughout your life). No question can be properly answered (and maybe even asked) without a clear knowledge of the context from which the question is developed. In the synagogue, it was for the priest to instruct those present. Historically those were men. With the advent of Christ, women were present in church, where before they had not. They were not familiar with the code of conduct which was binding even upon the men. That lack of awareness led to questions being asked by the wives of their husbands during the service. The situation became unruly. This was not a college lecture, where students had the opportunity to stop the lecturer. So the wives, probably even attempting to be quiet, were nonetheless causing disruption during the service. That and that alone was the basis of this. Nothing more.****

Christianity does no longer hate or scorn women. interior the early church women have been the somewhat some maximum influential leaders. women have been additionally some Jesus' closet companions. Please, do no longer attempt to %. out a small area of the Bible, and declare to renowned the full message conveyed in God's be conscious. a sprint "know-how" is risky, yet know-how (know-how and know-how) start up with fearing the Lord. make the hassle to desire that God will exhibit His will to you, and then study the Bible. God will exhibit Himself to you, in case you have a effortless coronary heart. i'm going to assert a prayer for you. God loves all His babies, the two woman and male. God bless!

1. That text you used not accurate; it is not a correct rendering of the verse in question (as already pointed out.)

2. The hundreds of millions of women who do speak in their churches demonstrates that not only are those words inaccurate, but being used here out of context of many other verses where women are specifically mentioned as speaking directly TO Christ and prophesying, for example. Education is good.

3. Spiritual women think broadly and deeply about the past, present, and future and are not so exclusively focused on their own personal egos.

I'm tempted to give you a big star and a chuckle for ripping on Christians so hard. I'm not a Christian, and having been raised Catholic, I tend to be pretty suspicious of the religion and the motives of the people involved in it. It was, after all, the first world religion that used fear of damnation as it's primary coercion for adherence...

But I'm also trying to work on my tolerance for other people, and I'm not sure if posting this sort of thing to just try to rip on other people is very useful or kind...

in our religion , as a woman, you have to be pretty willing to make up excuses and "hear and deaf, see and blind" to follow it. Most women simply don't adhere to that. The church has changed slightly ( overall) that this seems unnecessary.

men wrote the bible. It wasn't God himself. I never follow anything too seriously that is in there. Most of it is stories, written by men to teach a lesson. But some of it just does not make sense in today's world. The bible also speaks of slaves and servants but we don't have those today either. So.....you really shouldn't take these things literally.
