Whenever I scroll using IE or firefox my pages are lagging. Also, when I move a window (such as a file window), the window lags as well. It seems that my whole computer is lagging and it makes surfing the internet frustraiting. What is the problem?

I'm using windows XP pro and I *just* installed it. This is the first time that this has happened. Please help.

This is your problem:

You are missing your display drivers.

To verify this go to start-> run and type "dxdiag" without the quotes.

Go to the Display tab, do you see "vgasave.dll" as the driver?

The Solution: go to the manufacturer of your website and lookup your model number to download the driver. If the graphics are integrated (part of the motherboard) you need to go to the motherboard site.

Its hard to be certain without knowing even a little bit about your setup. If you reinstalled windows, meaning you used it before, then I would suggest formating and installing again. If this is the first time XP has run on the computer, perhaps your machine is not powerful enough. Here are some suggestions though:
1. If you have an antivirus disable it and see if it helps.

2. Right click the desktop and click properties. Under appearance, or maybe settings im not sure, there is a button called effects or advanced or something. Anyways, look around, when you get it, a series of radio buttons are shown. Turn off all effects such as menu shadows.

3. go to run and type dxdiag and press enter. A window will appear. Run the tests to see if directx is working right.

4. The most important one is go to hardware settings and ensure that everything is functioning and has a driver.

Good luck, and sorry for being vague, but im actually answering from my Nintendo Wii!
