Wisconsin almost lost to a crappy UNLV team...UM no good...OSU should have lost to Akron and WILL lose to Washington next week...Penn St is overrated..Iowa is garbage...MSU is always mediocre

Why do people still think the big-10 is better than Pac-10?

UCLA is very good.....USC is #1...Cal trounced TennU and made them look like garbage
Washington beat top 20 (longest win streak) Boise St...Oregon is better than any Big-10 team and they are projected to finish 5th in the pac-10

Absolutely !!! they are. After watching what was supposed to be the best team at this point in the BIG 10 (Wisconsin) barely beating a team that has only won what 7 games in the last 3 seasons !!!! hahahahahaha and Oregon trounce on what was left of a once proud team as Michigan whom every body touted as one of the teams that would possibly be in the National Champion ship game. hahahahahaha !!! Yes and as a USC fan, they are going to have a tough schedule ahead. wait a minute I heard a couple of weeks back from all the sports critics that they have one of the hardest schedules in college football... and has now become harder. If USC wins outright they will be the undisputed undeniable heavy weight champs in college football PERIOD !!!!!!! NO ARGUMENT !! Even if they lose just one game they still will probably make the National Championship game. That is just how tough of a schedule USC faces !!! Just plain unmistakable fact !! PERIOD.!!!!! So yes the PAC-10 is much better all around than the BIG 10. Plain & Simple !!!

Well, if you take Stanford out of the picture, because they're worse than anyone in the Big Ten, you'd be right.

And Iowa is garbage. A 35-0 win over possibly the worst I-A team in a BCS conference this side of Duke is not that impressive, and they get another horrid team in Iowa State next week (losing to both Kent State and Northern Iowa).

There are some teams improving in the Big Ten. Illinois finally won a game, Indiana isn't the total pushover they have been, Northwestern found a QB, and MSU may have found a coach. But at the top, the top teams can't compete with the top of other conferences. Wisconsin got exposed last night, OSU has no offense, and Penn State hasn't played a team that could beat a junior high girls' team.

The Pac-10 Conference owns more NCAA Championships in all sports combined than any other conference. Look it up.

In football, I think the season's results will prove the PAC-10's supremacy. However, almost every year the teams within the PAC-10 are all very competitive, and tend to be good enough to beat each other on any given Saturday. People back east (sportswriters, producers, and other media-types) who never stay up late every week to watch an actual PAC-10 season, and who only look at win-loss records, never see this detail IMHO. While teams in other conferences who go 12-0 while beating 4 or 5 "gimmee" opponents get ranked. It's the same every year really. The only team west of the Mississippi that anyone in New York has even heard of is USC. What a joke.

"Spanning nearly a century of outstanding athletics achievement, the Pac-10 has captured 359 NCAA titles (254 men's, 105 women's), far outdistancing the runner-up Big Ten Conference's 212 titles." Pac-10 Website.

Are you kidding? Indiana or Illinois, perhaps the two bottom teams in the Big 10 would easily beat Arizona and Stanford. That would mean the Pac 10 isn't best from top to bottom. The Pac 10's bottom is terrible.

Pac- 10 is garbage too dude. big 10 is a little tougher than you think. think of last year. ohio state had what 1 or no losses last year, went to the BCS Championship. Michigan and Wisconsin both had 1 loss last year. yes, michigan lost the bowl game, but wisconsin won. don't count them all out just yet.

As a Big-10 fan it pains me to say this, but The Pac-10 is better than the Big-10.

No honest, objective person things the Big-10 is better than the Pac-10, I don't know who you've been talking to, but no one believes that, honestly. There are 4 conferences this year, they are (in no particular order): SEC, Pac-10, Big East, Big-12 (South, really, forget North).

I have to agree after watching the Cal game last week and Oregon today. USC will have their hands full this year.

Yes.

In my humble opinion, even the "weak" Big East looks superior so far this year.
