I would talk to your district about an alternative high school -- especially if your asthma can be definitively tied to the building. Our district has a site where you can take courses on line and still get a high school diploma (NOT a GED). It's a drop out recovery program, but some students use it as alternative high school as well.

You need to have your doctor verify your allergy to something in the school environment. Could your parents home school you? Or could you join another home school? A true graduation is better than a GED. Check the details with your school counselor and the school board. Have all the details of the requirements for you before you speak to your parents.

Another possibility is your local community college. Most do not require a high school diploma or a GED to begin attending. If you call the counseling office they might be able to tell you on the phone if they have that policy.

Finally, no, you do not need a GED to get your driver's license. You will probably be required to complete a driver's course at a local driver's education business. A call to your state driver's license office. Good luck.

Each state is different you might just need one parent to sign your paperwork. And about your GED it all depends on how you want to get that. Do you want to take a test and get your GED or take classes at a college to get your GED. That is what you will need to do to get your GED. Good luck and hope all goes well.

Your school should have advice from various counselors
on continuing education on computer. Believe me, you'd
really regret Dropping Out. To me, the Internet sounds like
the way to get educated. I probably get 4-5 offers for con-
tingeing education dailly.

Perhaps it might reflect on what college you get into. I would do homeschooling and get a regular diploma...
