Xbox 360, How probable is it that I will get the "Ring of Death"??

Question

I've heard 9/100 but of all the reviews I've seen online it seems like 50% Is there a statistic or something, or an article?

lol ya replace it with another flawed xbox. dam i really want to buy one but im scared

I'll wait at least till fall when the new improved ones are to come out and c if they're any good, thx so far

The official statistic is 25-33% will get it (so about 1 out of 3 or 4)

Well this guy just answered it for you ^_~ but quite simply, to put this into perspective, you might want to take this into consideration:

out of five of my friends on exbox THREE of them have caught the ring of death, and another is starting to get it and so am i. Keep in mind that the ring of death starts with one or two red light and eventually moves to the final three-ring-plague-stage. And don't forget that if you do get the three red lights on startup of you 360 within' a few minuites that xbox will replace your entire system FOR FREE!

I got my 360 the January after it came out and I have never once had any problems with it, so really it just seems like luck to me. You shouldn't have to worry about losing your money though because Microsoft just extended all the warentees for another 2 years so that those who bought them at launch are good untill 2009.

I have never had the " RED RING OF DEATH " I have had my XBOX for a year now. I have no problems as of yet. I really don't think every one will get it. I just purchased the PS3 so I guess my XBOX will get an over due rest! Have faith maybe you will be the one lucky enough NOT to get the " RED RING OF DEATH! ". Peace Out...

dude its totally worth it. just buy one
