It is because it is easier to blame someone else for our problems, rather than accepting complete responsibility for our actions or inactions, depending upon the given situation. When we are willing to do this, we actually become quite free, for the burden is no longer on our shoulders to accept responsibility, for we simply assume it using free will. When we willingly do something, it is not burdensome.

well its not completely false that your circumstances dont influence what you become. If you live in the slums, your family is involved with the police/gangs etc., all the other kids in school are punks, its really hard to make something of yourself. Unless you're really strong and work really hard, you'll either become one of them, sink away and do all you can to survive, or dream about becoming something while changing nothing. most successful people would be nothing if they weren't spoonfed by a happy family with a good amount of money. but all the same, there are many well off people that make about as much of themselves as the people who dont have much of a chance. so its really mostly about your level of ambition, but the circumstances still usually play a pretty large part in what you become

I agree with you. You have to overcome the circumstances to be what you want to be. I'm living proof. It's all about the choices we make. It's too easy to sit and blame someone else for problems that are oftentimes within our capacity to change.

Such folks tend to evade responsibility for everythng that they do and find fault elsewhere. When people stand up and take ownership for their OWN actions they quickly find that they are where they set out to be, based on their OWN decisions throughout their lives.

NEITHER DO I. We all have the power to go forward. I see the same in India. They believe in all rubbish like horoscopes and stars and predictions and that never works ever. If we work for it then we get what we want and anything is possible ANYTHING

Because we tend to become a product of our environment. It's a fact.
there are circumstances in our lives that we HAVE NO CONTROL OVER. You must be very young or inexperienced in real life sugar.

Because no one teaches personal responsibility. And the one taught it, have forgotten all about it.

Because it is easier than taking personal responsibility for what they do to contribute to the problems they face, and an inability to accept what they can't change.
