It's tender, painful, somewhat big (about half the size of a fingernail) and it looks kind of like there's a purple/black bit in it. I'm not sure what this is, i should get it checked out, but i've had them before (not often) and they've gone in about a week by themselves. I'm thinking it could be a boil..any suggestions to what it could be?

It sounds like a boil. Ibuprofen is good for the pain and inflammation. Boils do not always have white centers. They can be purple/bluish from blood. It could also be a blackhead that has become infected causing it to be bigger than normal. If it's not gone in a few days get it checked out.

I'm pretty sure it's just regular skin acne. If you work out regulary, and sweat builds up, these bumps can appear, and they usually show up on your back, shoulders, and chest. To treat it, just make sure you use a body cleanser on the affected area during your showers. Although the bumps are painless, it is kind of embarassing, especially if you're wearing a low-cut shirt. You can even try acne cleansers before you go to bed. I use 4 Hour Rapid Action Treatment Cream by Clearasil before I go to bed, and Epuri Foaming Cleanser in the shower.

If it was a boil it would have a white center where the infection is. Since you get these often see your doc to find out what it is so you can figure out how to prevent them or treat them.

ANY kind of lump on your breast/body that shouldn't be there, tis always best ASAP to get it checked out...

I've noticed things like that on myself....and thought about what I may have done to cause it. I could usually remember knocking into something while carrying books, etc.
If you cannot come up with an explanation like this, you may want to consult your doctor. Better safe than sorry.

I'm no Dr., but I seem to recall reading somewhere that this could be the sign of a deeper infection in the milk gland. Go to the Dr. ASAP.

sounds like a bad black head or a pimple...yes you can get pimples here because when you sweat your bra rubs up against it and causes the blemish...but to be safe get it checked cuz i could be wrong, don't forget that breast cancer is rampid in this day and age

look get a mammogram right aaway i read in a book in the mammogram cent it could be breast canccer please go when u have a chance
