I've always liked Gene Hackman as an actor, and I also believe that he is very under rated.

Yes, he is a great actor!
With two Oscars I believe he's been recognized for the wonderful actor he is.
He's slowing down a little now but at 77 years old we'd better start appreciating him sooner than later!
Isn't your question about Gene Hackman? Is this a question about appreciation or a popularity contest?

I disagree, I would say Hackman, giamatti, and norton are all very respected actors. They just don't get the press because they don't do anything stupid. I believe that the more respected you are, the more people leave you alone. I mean, they sure haven't been on the cover of Star magazine, but I give them props for that. Just because Hollywood isn't gossiping about them doesn't mean they don't exist.

I can't think of anyone who hasn't already been listed,Hackman is definitely in the top 5 under rated actors.I'd like to make a correction, though, I'm pretty sure the dude who put Segal thought you wrote over rated instead of under rated!! lmao =D

Gene Hackman's great, but the most underrated actors are Edward Norton, Ed Harris and Delroy Lindo.

He is definitely one of them for sure. There are a lot of great actors that don't get enough recognition. Lucy got all the credit but Vivian Vance could hold her own too.

Steve Buscemi is underrated in my opinion. He's a fantastic actor, and I've like him in everything except The Sopranos.

Absolutely. He is a great actor and seldom gets the parts to prove it. There was another actor that was underrated, but I can't remember his name. (SEE?) He played on the series Airwolf and did a lot of movies, too. He was a really great actor as well.
