Now here is something that you women don't understand because you don't have to live with a penis. Been there, done that, got some of the scars.

When you are a little boy, it does not bother you all that much. But even then the penis is extremely sensitive. From our earliest memories our penises are always getting larger and smaller. I can't remember the first time I got an erection but it was a mystery. What's this? When we stop to think about it as children, which is not all that often, we don't know why. But we also know very well not to ask why.

Women and I presume girls have a clitoris with the same sensitivity but the external part is quite small and it is 1. Out of sight 2. Covered by folds of skin. It almost never bumps against anything and never flops about inside your clothes. It probably gets erections too. The owners might feel something but probably see nothing. What the eye does not see the heart does not grieve over, that does not quite fit the case but you get what I mean.

Cue age 10-11. Things start to grow. The boy starts to realise that the erections are connected to sexual matters. By the time four years have gone by he is very well aware of it and can produce an erection almost at will by thinking. Keep the stimulation up and the penis produces a white sticky fluid accompanied by a pleasant nervous shock. This does not happen with the ears or toes. So it is unique.

But the penis also "has a mind of it's own". It will produce its own erections at inappropriate times. So you are sitting in class or at the movies or in school and it erects on it's own. You are hardly aware of it. One moment things are OK, the next you have to stand up with a lump in front of your trousers. I'll bet the same thing happens to girls too but there is no lump.

The next thing is you begin to be aware that some appear larger than others. Then you start to hear that women prefer larger erect penises. The fact that there is little variation in erect size is something you are not aware of. Few teenage boys compare the sizes of erect penises with their friends. The fact that there is little truth in the rumor of female preference either does not matter, it sounds as if it might be true.

At 14 I have very little self confidence in any case and then this comes along. Will it be big enough for my girlfriend/wife? Will she take off with some other male because his is bigger than mine? Will I be obliged to bring up some other man's children unknowingly because my wife has had an affair with some man (whose penis may be bigger than mine). Don't laugh, it is more common than you may think.

Am I adequate for the life ahead of me? What does the future hold? I have no idea. That is why when something adequately anonymous like the internet comes along male kids ask questions like this.

With girls it is "Are my breasts big enough?", "Am I too fat?" or "Am I pretty enough?" Thereby the massive sales of virtually useless cosmetics, gizmos like underwire and padded bras and why such the delightful disorder anorexia is almost exclusively a female thing. Here's a hint for the young women reading this.

We men look at big breasts for maybe half a minute, probably less, they are like a big waving flag saying "I'm ready to mate!" But we really don't care how big they are if the owners like us and we like the owners. Any male over 18 obsessed with breast size needs therapy.

We also don't care much if you carry a little weight, have an acne spot on your face or would never make runner up in the local beauty pageant if you like us and we like you.

I myself have never asked any questions about the size of my penis.....because I know I can't really do anything about it.

But I know that most guys are insecure about their size and want to know if they measure up, so to speak.

And although a lot of women will come on here and say that size doesn't matters we know that size does matter for some.

I remember overhearing girls talking who didn't know I was there and they went on about how they would never go out with a guy who had a small d*ck but would lie to him and say it's big enough to spare his feelings.....so I guess we can never really be sure that women are being honest when they say it's big enough for them.

Let's face it Sarah, most of the men writing on Yahoo Answers are young and 1: are immature and don't think about anything but sex because they are not getting any and 2: don't really have any real health problems. That pretty much narrows down the possible subject matter don't you think?

As my Grandfather always said:

My nookie days are over
My pilot light is out
What used to be my sex appeal
Is now my water spout.

Time was when, on its own accord
From my trousers it would spring
But now I've got a full-time job
To find the blasted thing.

It used to be embarrassing
The way it would behave
For every single morning
It would stand and watch me shave.

Now as old age approaches
It sure gives me the blues
To see it hang its little head
And watch me tie my shoes.

It's the most important part of our bodies. If we didn't have a penis, we'd be women.
