That's an interesting question! I saw on the Discovery Chanel before that same bugs have a natural instinct to go to light because for millions of years they have used the moon light to help them migrate and navigate around. Our technology confuses them.

Artificial light meses with their natural navigation and they tend to try to fly in a circle. As they do this they find themselves unable to actually navigate and follow the walls and end up near the bulb. For some reason though, a campfire seldom produces the same effect because they are able to fly a full circle around the fire and can keep their distance from it.

Many bugs, most of the fliers, get know where they are by looking at the sun and taking a mesure of the incidence of sun rays, so that calculate the angle. when there is a very near light , they get conffused and start to fly in circles or spirals and finally they get to the bulb light

They mistake anything that gives out light as sun and try to orient thier flight keeping a straight angle of flight with respect to "that" sun.

God gave us a penis and a brain but not enough blood to use both at the same time.
