Marriage is a relationship.. above sexual urges. Indians believe in relationships.

Most Asian countries - India being no exception - have a socially conscious mindset with less emphasis being placed on individual views & values. Unlike Western countries, where the values tend to be more self-oriented.

Traditional marriages in India are not just about the couple but about uniting families & communities. Therefore this tends to put a lot of pressure on individuals to perpetuate the tradition, keep up to the family's expectations & gain some kind of acceptance from the community.

Although this is changing....depends on the mindset, famly values & the way the individual has been brought up.

I think this is an incorrect observation.

It is human nature to get married and have a family, so i dont think indians are "obsessed" with marriage. Indians may value family relations and the concept of staying together in a monogamous relationship but that is common in most asian cultures.

They are "obsessed" with marrigde because unlike people in America, Indians stil value the holy bond between a man and a women. Also, Indians like to party and weddings are amazing!

indians are not obsessed with marriage, its just an important part of their culture......i think most of the people do wish to have a happy marriage, a nice family, etc, unless they are against marriage or something

Because its part of our culture.Tradition.The way Things Are Done.Yeah,I'm Indian.But my family lives in Canada,we aren't bound by religion,as we aren't very religious at all.Is your family really religious,or are you even Indian?

mens use womens like a machine to quence their thirst.they don't realize the purity of such bondage like marriage.according to acient culture women are to depend on the women and abide by him and husband is to take care of her their childrens.but,now things have changed women wants equal right to men they want to be equal to men how is it possible.can men be pregnant?can they produce babies?No, so both men and women should knw the meaning of marriage. one should indulge in sex only for procreation purpose not any other purpose of quencing once lust,No.it is against natures law.because of such mislead in culture peoples are going for divorce.the result is anxiety.Hare Krishna

They are soo not absesed most indians just listen to their old parents! their parents probably married early like in their 16s and they want their child to do the same thing!

Because we, the Indian girls need a husband socially, otherwise there are troubles.
So we part out legs only when guys promise us marriage.

Could be their religion and beliefs. If you havent found happiness with them find someone new. Life is too short to focus on one race.
