I seldom use it at home, but it's great for work. It's quicker and easier than picking up the phone to call someone in another building or walking across the room to talk to someone. You don't have the whole conversation thing to deal with that way. Everybody pretty much gets to the point and moves on to whatever else they need to do.

That's how I met this someone special I'm having a huge crush on. Though after that we've met in real life, we almost all of the time just chat online. As friends only, unfortunately..
But I have no regrets. I love YM

I love it. I have a couple of friends that live far away, and we can spend way more time i.m.ing than just talking on the phone.
