There is in fact some evidence to support that, when asked, parents did have a favored child and it was usually the lastborn, or youngest sibling. Yet, the youngest usually seemed to be the least closest to their parents. Which may explain why many adult children can't identify who was their mother's favorite child. (the two studies below can elaborate)

There are other conflicting studies about which sex is favored. Some studies show a social economic and darwinian reason why men are more the more favored children, while others claim mothers favor their daughters more.

Either way, yes there are favorites. Yes, most parents are reluctant in admitting favorites. And yes, if you're middleborn you kinda got the shaft.

I would say that maybe secretly they might, but it all depends on the nature of each child and how that one relates to their parents. I love each of my 2 the same, but there are certain things about each that I'm not too crazy about. But, no, I do not have a favorite and both will inherit equally, no matter what. That is if I have anything left to leave :-(

i don't think this is true. i have 3 bio and 2 step kids. there are days when i "click" with one child more than the others. during some stages kids are hard to get along with and so we do not talk as much or have alot of fun or understand each other well. but as they pass through that phase it gets easier. i have heard of parents having favorite children but not anyone close to me.

They say they don't but deep down, they definitely like or or two, better than the other. Or each parent has their favorite.

Moms are closer to their sons. Dads to their daughters.
Not always, but usually.
