I am now taking classes at Barbizon. They have really good teachers. I learned how 2 walk, sit, pose, apply make up, do commercials, and have ettique. Its a really good experience, but do they find you good jobs and bookings and about how many a month.

i did barbizon too
it was a lot of fun, and going the the imta convention in hollywood was a good time, but even though i got callbacks, most of them wanted me to stay in california, which i didn't want.
i ended up just making profiles on modelmayhem and omp, filtering out the creepy photographers, and trading pics for time at first.
once you have good pictures it's easier to find work/ get signed. working through an agency is usually the best way.. most places looking for models only go through agencies.

Lillie is absolutely right. If you have sense you would look at the links, because she provided sources for her claim. I went to Barbizon and it is indeed a scam. You spend a lot of money and they don't find you work. I know of another person that also spent a lot of money and the same thing happened to him. Modeling schools don't increase self confidence either. You will be there with other girls, who may have more potential and prettier than you, and you'll feel worse. You will get criticized and if you have low self-esteem you won't be able to handle it. You should really do your research on Barbizon.

the modeling lessons are ok for the cost. Ask them about the good jobs and how many a month. It they are honest, they will say there is no way to tell.

My understanding is that they only sell lessons and rarely get anyone a paying job. If they haven't got you a job after 6 months or a year, quit them. Do not take their acting classes. There are better ones.

Who do you know that's famous that went to Barbizon? That's a waste of money and time. Who needs to be taught how to sit? No one can teach you how to walk, because if you are modeling each designer has a different way that they want you to walk so there is no "right" way to walk. If you want to act you should get into a reputable acting school, but that also depends on the city and state where you live.

I took a seminar in school (Columbia University, NYC) about schools like these and they are known as a waste of time and money. I am truly sorry that you've wasted your time and money.

I wish you all the luck though.
