I didn't find anyone else that sang the song the same as Tim and Faith do, however, I did find several other songs with the same name. Also, Mark Bautista and Leann Rhimes have done songs that are similiar, both titled I Need You.

I don't know who the original singer is but I like the song. I always crack up when I hear the line "like a needle needs a vein" lol
