By looking at somes profiles, I can see that they have racked up thousands of points by responding to useless dribble that has no effect on their lives. Is there some sort of badge, if you get the highest points ever on these boards or something? I could never sit at my computer that long answering questions, because I have a life.

Oh you know you do do it cause you ask this question. And if you really have a life you wouldnt have put that in there. And the useless dribble, as you call it, does have an affect on some one llives because some of us ask these questions for a reason.

Well, there is this element called time.

You could have thousands of points but have gotten them over the course of 7 months by racking up lots of best answers (me).

Or you could have thousands of points because you sit on your computer everyday for at least a few hours...

If you ever had a life, will ever have one, know people who have one or who will have one, and you are fulfilled by helping others, Yahoo Answers can be very rewarding, the stupid trolls notwithstanding.

If you have a life, don't live in a cocoon. "No man is an island."

It does people good to interact, even online.

Yahoo Answers is one of the most popular sites in America and in other countries as well.

Our pleasure outweighs your opinion.

well the reason i'm on here so much is because i'm at work and i don't have anything else to do until something breaks down. and my office computer sucks, everything interesting seems to be blocked and since i'm stuck in this office all night by myself this is the closest thing to an intelligent conversation i can have until the rest of the crew comes in in the morning. but i'm sure many of the people you are talking about have lives they just enjoy doing this when they don't have anything else to do.

I'm sure the people you are referring too have lives also this is just something they do in their spare time and it is kind of addictive. Don't judge another user based upon the number of points that they have. Besides I seriously doubt they gained their points by being at their computer at one time it was probably over a long period of time.

I've been here on and off since March 2006. I used to stay in the philosophy section but I've been drawn to this section by the trolls. I agree, there are better ways to spend my time. For an hour I've been meaning to log off and go do something else, but it's been hard. This site is addicting.

Be quiet. You know you waste your time on here too. Don't try to act like we're the only ones.
