does your birth certificate have your middle name? if it does then just bring it in and they'll be able to help you change the name you want.

I don't remember having to have my name on my marriage certificate and new Social Security Card be the same, try the Social Security website and see what it says about name changes. You may have to go down there and spend a good amount of time with all sorts of documentation, but I can't see why you can't have your name on your social security card the way you want it, but then again after 9/11 nothing seems easy anymore. Good luck and congrats

Call the SS office, they can give you the heads up on this. Since the name is also how your income tax is done and also your work history and your pay checks. the way our state does it is your first name, your first initial of your last name and then your new last name. I sign my name the way i feel like it but on legal documents I follow what is on my marriage/SS card.

I'm sure there is. Talk to someone higher up in the social security office. Most of those yahoos in gov. jobs don't know what the hell they're doing.
You may want to also call the courthouse in your town and speak to someone about name changes.
I'm sure you can change it to whatever you want. Just might be a few hoops to jump through.

yes. my sister changed her name after her divorce back to her maiden name. my ver good friend did the same. a friend amereicanized his name when he immigrated from italy. not sure how they did it, just that they did. there are legal things that have to happen, but any one of age can change their legal name. just consult a lawyer.

If this is your biggest problem, you are very lucky. Try applying for a name change at the courthouse.

Go back to city hall and have the change made to whatever you specify. You need your sanity.

I WOULD LIKE TO SAY YOU CAN BUT OF COURSE THERE ARE MANY
STEPS TO TAKE. ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS CALL YOUR LOCAL SOCIAL
SECURITY OFFICE AND SEE WHAT ADVICE THEY GIVE YOU. BUT
HONESTLY THERE SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM...... GOOD LUCK......
