Shortly after 9/11, we got lots of video tapes from Bin Laden that was very clear, shot from multiple angles, used close-ups, and filmed in multiple environments. In short, it looked like typical amateur video which is what you would expect it to be. After rumors of his death in December of 2001 of natural causes, there were no more original, new videos. All we got only old, recycled footage, and sometimes we got only audio.

Then in 2004, days before the presidential election, we get a video of a barely-moving Bin Laden, shot from from a single angle, and with no close-ups. Is it really Bin Laden, or is it a look-alike meticulously produced by someone with an agenda? Did whoever made the video not want us to get too good a look at the person purported to be Osama? Why wasn't it shot in the same manner as his original videos? What we see is not from someone wanting to prove to the world that he was still alive!

Now that support for bush's surge is in serious jeopardy, we get a convenient new video of an equally stiff and barely-moving Bin Laden, also shot from far away and from a single angle, and which is no more convincing than the one that came out in 2004.

A lot of people are starting to suspect -- more than half the population I'd say. This tape is fake. What does bush think he's doing?

This is not OBL.

This was released to try to bolster support for more time and patience for the Iraq quagmire!

No other OBL tape ever referenced any of the things referenced on these tapes.

Sad desperate attempt to fool the public!!!

Well, I suppose any number of things, one could suggest that if you drive 500 miles outside of Quito, Ecuador there's a village with some peasants, maybe some Llamas along with Adolph Hitler, JFK, Elvis and most recently Osama Bin Laden.

But in reality Mr. Bin Ladin is probably still alive and just in the position of wanting to stay that way, and produces videos and such which are of intentionally poor quality so that forensic intelligence review may gather productive information from them.

Bush doesn't have anything to do with it. Bush gets blamed for everything - it's called "Bush Derangement Syndrome". He gets blamed for bridges collapsing, mines caving in, hurricanes, etc. Some mentally challenged people even go so far as to assert that he planned 9-11 or didn't do anything to stop it. Sheesh.

I don't believe this is Bin Laden either, but I think it's because the terrorists, our enemy in the Global War on Terror, are trying to make people believe that nothing has changed because of the war. They want to make people feel like it was wasted time and wasted lives - that Bin Laden is still alive even after all that. If people think the Global War on Terror, no matter if the front is in Iraq or Afghanistan, is for nothing, they will begin to lose hope. Couple this with Democrat Senator Harry Reid making press conferences and saying "The war is lost and the surge has failed (even before the surge ever started)" (REF: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niPmXym7u3g&mode=related&search=), and you've got a propaganda machine helping the enemy.

Bush's surge is not in peril. The GOP senators that were starting to waiver are hearing great news on successes steming from the surge. They are reported everywhere from the New York Times to the Senators going over there to check it out. Even General Petraus, a general of independent thought just put in charge of the theater, will issue a report soon stating that the violence is plumetting. Those GOP senators, even a few Democrat senators, are starting to support the Iraqi front of the Global War on Terror again.

Contrary to your question, I seriously doubt that the people who openly question this video have ever given Bush the benefit of the doubt - ever.
It is inconceivable that such a hoax could stand up to the scrutiny it will receive from all of Bush's opponents and all of the experts who are critical of this administration and Bush's policies.
This is simply another push from the far left to garner more anti-Bush sentiment and cast doubt on his integrity.
Imagine - if this video was fake and a product of this administration, the valid and verifiable proof of this would be forth coming from numerous sources, but, instead, all we get is the rumors and speculation so prevalent with the rhetoric that is spewed from the far left constantly.

Your point. Guess that means we don't have to hunt Bin Laden, so I guess Bush was right. This wasn't him. They are trying to use this to galvanize terrorists across the world.

well, the 26 Percenters will never question their Connecticut Cowboy of God but at least the rest of America begins to rub the crust of sleep from their eyes and question what in the hell is really going on here. not sure if it's too late or not. The Constitution is in tatters and fascism lurks in the shadows.

PS. i guess Osama is using Grecian Formula. did he get a nose job?

hehehe some 26 Percenters gave me thumbs down. cool!

This kind of woo-woo, loony left thinking is becoming mainstream in the Democratic Party. That's why Hillary has the ankles of a type II diabetic hippopotamus.
