and i wanted to make a heart shape with my moms inicial on it for her b-day but i dont know how to melt the copper..can anyone tell me? ty =)

Copper has a fairly high melting point (1830F) and is difficult to melt nicely because it oxidizes. That is why alloys of it in brass or bronze are usually used for casting.

You would probably do better to look at copper enameling supplies where you can buy premade copper forms and melt glass enamels onto them for designs.
