I'm not so sure that Motiv exists anymore. It really doesn't matter though since most bike parts are pretty standard. This is a bit long but I want to be accurate with the answer Lets determine what brakes you have... Cantilever brakes (I think you have) are 2 separate short boomerang shaped arms attached to the bike via studs on the frame or fork. The arms are joined with a straddle cable. There is then a yoke that carries the main cable to the center of the straddle cable; or, you have linear pull brakes, where there are 2 straight arms connected to the frame the same way as the cantilevers. The cable runs through one arm via a bent "noodle" tube and attaches to the other; or, you have sidepull brakes, where there are 2 C-shaped arms that joing together to a central pivot bolt which also goes through the frame and hold the brake to the frame or fork. In the case of the canti or linear pull brakes, there should be a small screw on the side of one or both of the arms. In the case of a left shoe dragging, either tighten the screw on the left side or loosen the screw on the right side. SOMETIMES there are no screws at all. If this is the case the springs have likely weakened and the brakes will have to be replaced. New cantilevers cost about $18 per set (front or rear) while new linear pull brakes are about $20 a set. Note that replacing cantilevers with linear pulls will require new brake levers as well. If you have a sidepull brake, simply put a wrench on the nut holding the brake to the frame and "tweak" it clockwise (looking at the nut) until the brake centers itself. Um, before you do that make sure the nut is tight, then proceed. Usually the tweak will be just enough to move the whole brake in the correct direction. It may take a couple of tries.
