The role of leadership and supervision in American business is gaining increasing recognition. Just as society looks for a leader to define its purpose and lead it forward, business is concerned with the selection and development of people who can successfully invent, make, sell and provide services to set their enterprise apart from its competition and solve the many perplexing problems that confront them.

Management techniques of the last several decades -- management by objectives, diversification, zero-based budgeting, value chain analysis, decentralization, centralization, quality circles, restructuring, management by "walking around" etc. -- have not had the significant, long lasting affect that some of the tried and true, but often forgotten, strategies of supervision can offer.

I would say by being a leader! Find a group that you're very interested in and take a leadership role. If you like children become a scout leader, either boy or girl and yes a man can become a Girl scout leader as long as the main leader is a woman but that leaves a lot for a assistant leader to do. Coach a sport that you know a lot of. Volunteer for a cause that you believe in. There are a lot of different ways to become a leader start small and work your way up. It's not hard it takes time, Good luck.

Well, I'd have to say the best way to develop leadership skills is by becoming a leader yourself. Maybe you can volunteer whether at school or thru an outside organization. Also, read about it and study those who have been or are currently leaders. If they are successful and you follow their style or way of doing things, maybe that can help you. Good luck to you.

in my opinion to build leadership skills you need to make sure the people you are trying to "lead" like you. Be nice to everyone. Make sure that you know as much information as possible in the thing/activity/subject/whatever you are doing. If you want to be a good leader start out small and watch and learn form previous leaders mistakes then work your way up to the top.

if i am to tell you how to be a good leader. i would consume thousands of words. leadership is a skill that can be acquired and developed in a very long time. but then, let me give you the first thing that a leader must possess and everything else follows.
a leader must have a VISION.
always start small, think Big, and scale up. ^_^

Get yourself into leadership positions, try coaching a sports team. Take courses on management and volunteer for community events. Learn about dealing with people in all levels so you can feel comfortable in any situation. Always remember the golden rule.

Experience and success. People naturally follow others who KNOW what they're talking about, make sense, and have personal confidence. The two fastest ways to get all three of these qualities is by being successful (even in little things) and by having a very broad foundation of experience. You need to try new things, travel, meet people, talk, work in a variety of jobs, etc.

get some books on leadership; then determine your already instilled leadership skills and then you can put them into practice into your job or a charitable activity where you have to do teamwork.

Start by deciding the objective, what kind of people you need for that, and listen carefully to your interviewees. When they do something wrong, assume they were trying their best until, you know otherwise.
