Much of a politician's appeal, especially in the American political system, depends more on emotions than logic. People vote for someone with whom they feel comfortable. Unfortunately, that doesn't always translate into making a good choice for a leader, so while I'll concede the point that Bush has some intelligent admirers, I'd also argue that they are misguided.

Yes.

Even the greatest genuises can suffer from Ignorance, denial and self-delusion.

It is very difficult for people who are motivated by a desire for power to ever admit they have been wrong, and most rightwingers are "power people".

But an intelligent and well-informed person has to work AWFULLY HARD to keep supporting Bush. The psychological strain must be overwhelming.

No wonder the Army chief of staff is so worried that our troops are near the breaking point.

Yes and no. Some are dumb as bricks and some are just ill informed/brainwashed. But they are ALL sheep.

PS. Going to Yale/Harvard doesn't make you intelligent. It just means that your daddy has money and power. Same can be said of George Bush's "military service."

I would not consider anyone who supports Bush as being intelligent. Some people are very niave, and they are blinded to what is really happening in the Bush Administration.

Considering the religious organizations teach people to follow "Daddy figures", there are a lot of intelligent people that follow Bush because he's strong and wrong.

In other words, there are intelligent people with psychological problems that voted for him. I know intelligent people who voted for him that sincerely regret their choice now.

Even intelligent people make mistakes.

And this is to mckenzie, an answerer on this question...I used to have my answers available for public viewing, but thanks to stalkers like dude_dance and Mr. Perfect, I started hiding them. There are some real Republican loonies on yahoo answers and they are persistent and annoying. I dont' mind seeing them once in a while, but knowing that they're checking my answers once a day and following me around to every question I answered got old quick. I guess that that's probably why so many Democrats hide their answers. Too many loony Republicans don't have anything better to do than to stalk, harass and follow us around. There's your answer.

I don't see how anyone who supports this president can be considered intelligent because President George W Bush is a collosal failure at everything he does. People who support George W. Bush believe in myths and obviousely don't read newspapers or anything other than listen to chicken hawks like Rush Limbaugh a fatass radio 'entertainer'. I think they're all doo doo heads.
Thanks

Supporting Bush makes perfect sense if one is wealthy or a big-time corporate shareholder AND has a belief that life is about accumulating assets.

It depends on one's point of view.

Bush is a product of his environment. Like the rest of us.

Yes.
I'm a Bush supporter.
There are things I disagree with but he has done a lot of good.
Thanks to him over 750 planned terrorist attacks were stopped.
The people that put him down must want to roll over and let the terrorists win.
He's a good man just cut the man some slack.

Now it's time for change.
Vote Ron Paul '08
Please!

Obama is worse than Bush and Hillary will bring this nation to bankruptcy, and take away what's left of our freedom!
