I lost 10 pounds in the beginning and what made it weird was I didn't have any morning sickness at all. I'm now five and a half months and I've only gained back two pounds because my doctor told me to drink an Ensure once a day. When I went for my last ultrasound, the baby was exactly the lenght and weight it should be. My doctor told me as long as you're eating what you should and your baby is getting all of the nutrients it should, everything is fine.

it can be very normal. Your doctor should be measuring you at each appointment. Let him know if you are concerned. As long as you are eating healthy foods you should be okay. Especially if you had extra weight to begin with it's normal. I didn't start gaining weight until about 27 weeks and my doctor isn't worried in the least he feels it's good since it's showing i'm eating healthy since my little girl is measuring exactly where she should be.
remember at 30 weeks that little baby only weighs about 3 pounds and has about a pint of amniotic fluid around it. Morning sickness causes plenty of women to lose weight. The baby will take what it needs to grow from your system.

The baby will take its nutrients, and what it needs from you. Its very common to lose weight in the first weeks because of morning sickness. Some women have more than a few weeks, and they lose a lot more. If you're too worried you could talk to your doctor, but you should be fine.

Are you overweight? Overweight women don't gain as much because your body uses what it already has.
I lost weight in the beginning (Not sure how much) and now I'm 25 weeks and still 1lb under what I was my first prenatal visit.
If you're worried about it, ask your OB at your next appointment if it's okay. :) Goodluck.

no worries! I am 16weeks with twins and have lost 18lbs and I continue to loose. I have talked about it in depth with my doctor and he has assured me that the babies are getting what they need. He has also told me that I am more than likely eating healthier food and at a more regular schedule and that in itself would cause me to loose weight pregnant or not. Just make sure your drinking your water and eating what you need. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

my sister in law lost weight, 2kg, in the beginning and then only gained back 4kg, so she really only put on 2kg past her original weight. (approx 4.4 pds) and baby was an average size and very healthy!

They bub is taking all his nutrients from you. It isn't that uncommon. One of my sisters in-law never put any weight on, simple lost weight. She was a bigger build though
