It's not easy. I always try but there are moments of weakness when even with my best efforts I fail. If I were created different I would never fail - but then I would have been a robot: cold, heartless, pre-programmed and without free will.

The gospel, according to CDO:
"For Christians, if you follow every single commandment of God including the scriptures in the Bible, we would have no war, no poverty, no crimes, no MTV (too much sexy stuff), no Hollywood movies (too many violent and adult stuff), NOTHING."
This statement implies that those problems mentioned are caused by Christians alone. Therefore, here are some possible solutions to eradicate war, poverty, crimes, MTV (too much sexy stuff), Hollywood movies (too many violent and adult stuff):
1) Christians should "follow every single commandment of God including the scriptures in the Bible."
2) Christians should renounce their faith and become non-Christians.
3) Feed Christians to the lions.

For Christians, if you follow every single commandment of God including the scriptures in the Bible, we would have no war, no poverty, no crimes, no MTV (too much sexy stuff), no Hollywood movies (too many violent and adult stuff), NOTHING. We would live life in the past in which I doubt many would agree and want to. You see jeepney drivers with rosary beads but does not follow traffic rules. In mass, you make peace with your neighbors, but all you do is bow and nod without really meaning it. It is pure hypocrisy. Have you seen everyone come out of the mass smiling and talking to each other like they are all friends? Some religiously go to mass every Sunday or Saturday whatever is your Sabbath day but the day after it is back to normal life of lying, cussing, cheating, watching those porn stuff in the internet, watching violent and adult stuff in TV and movies, does not even care for the sick, poor, having pre-marital sex, masturbating (yes it is a sin by Christian doctrine) and others. So for those who say it is not difficult to follow God is a hypocrite. You should get a mirror and look at yourself closely. Better yet get a Bible, ask your Priest or Pastor and you will be amazed how sinful you are.

I believe it is not hard to follow God. I am a believer and if you believe, you should not worry about how hard it is. You just pray and read in the bible everyday and you wont worry how hard it is. You will soon have the desire to follow God in your daily life.

He has 10 commandments - quite possibly 3 of which we will never commit anyway...of the 7 left, 3 are "give-aways" (i.e., easy to follow)....that leaves 4 big ones that we have to wrestle with. Shouldn't be that hard really, isn't it?
It might interest you to know that Y!A has 14 items in their community guidelines....now tell me, if we can comply with 14 items (most of the time!), surely we can comply with 10, di ba?
>>>to CDOguide - In all seriousness, do you really think our merciful God had deliberately made it difficult for us to follow Him? I don't think so. He has blessed us with graces to make it possible for us to walk His Way. And the greatest consolation of all is He is walking this path with us. For me, knowing and believing that is enough to make following Him a fairly easy task. I do not claim to be faultless or sinless, but if I look at my faith as a hard pill to swallow, then I might as well leave it. I guess I just don't have any scruples when it comes to my religion and my God. And certainly I don't make any judgment calls on how others practice theirs.

if following God is based on human efforts alone, it is hard. we will never succeed. It is by the grace of God, we can follow him. When we encounter some difficulty, we entrust it to God, ask for His guidance and He will lead the way.

If you mean the 10 commandments and the 7 deadly sins, God is still kind to me up to now.

Consider the following:
The worship of God in spirit and in truth, not the worship of idols, images and icons.
The will of God, not self-will, self-righteousness, and self-determination.
Confidence in Christ, not self-confidence.
Theocracy, not democracy, capitalism, nor communism.
God's truth, not human opinion.
God's love, not romantic illusions.
It is hard to follow God; but, it can be done if we have the will and determination... and if we truly fear and love Him.

Very, very hard. We keep stumbling most of the times. Life is full of temptations and trials. That makes things harder to follow Him. But we must keep on trying.
Cheers.

How hard is it to be a decent person? how hard is it not to hurt others? how hard is it to be honest? how hard is it to show kindness, and compassion If it is not hard for you to do these things, then it is not hard at all to follow God.
