heehee! Did he say they were Austrians? I wasn't able to put it together because his voice was slurred and then he turned and try to exit what looked to me like a wall. hmmmm! Was he drunk? You know that would explain a lot wouldn't it?
Thanks

Bush is reported to be a teetotaler (hasn't had an alcoholic drink in many years). However, he did act very strange at APEC. He got in a word pissing match with the South Korean Prime Minister about at long last officially declaring The Korean War with North Korea was over (it ended in 1953). He blamed it on a bad Korean translator. At one point, he thought he was at a China summit and not at APEC and he referred to the Australians as Austrians.

Perhaps the stress of the very long trip to Australia via a stop and meetings in Iraq combined with jet lag made him goofier than his normal goofy self.

I don't think so. I'm not a fan of Bush's, but to be fair it's a long trip and he was off the plane and into meetings straight away.

It's a mistake a lot of business visitors to Australia (errr, maybe I should say Austria so you'll know where I mean ;-) ) make.

They try to fit too much in in a short time and don't allow time to let their bodies adjust to a different hemisphere, time zone, etc. I know from overseas travel that it can take a few days just to get the sleep patterns back to normal.

And let's face it, he is known for making those type of verbal slips, even on 'home turf' ... I mean, remember his speech to the Queen?

Cheers :-)

If he was awake, than more the likely he was either drunk, or had just finished a line of some Peruvian hooch.

I doubt it. He doesn't hang out with people like Senator Ted Kennedy.

Bush has not had a drink of alcohol in almost twenty years. You should learn a little bit more about our current president.
