You probably only need one router in the house. However, most routers these days are also switches, and if it works out more convenient to use both, than do so. The house only needs one DSL line, so only pay for one.

Are you trying to connect to your parent's wireless network? Then no, you don't need a second router, just their WEP or WPA key info to register. The ISP neither counts nor cares how many computers or users connect via their account.
A firewall provides a layer of security but since you are already behind a gateway using private net addresses this is not strictly necessary.
Adding a 2nd wireless router to the mix is neither necessary (presuming you have no issues with coverage, then you would want an antennae or repeater rather than another router) nor desirable as it adds an unecessary layer of complexity and can cause addressing issues that prevent everyone from connecting to the internet.
If this doesn't answer your question, please restate it in a more cohesive fashion and I'll be glad to help.

A router is just a piece of equipment that allows you to send and receive bandwidth signals through wireless. Also, if you already have a router, and you use another one, you will just have two access points to connect to the internet.
Also, it depends; do you already have DSL? (or Cable?) A router usually needs this type of internet to send signal. If you don't have some kind of hispeed internet, you probably need it.
Good luck

How are you connecting the ADSL modem and the netdgear router mutually. while you're plugging interior the ADSL MOdem to a laptop using USB and connecting that laptop to the Netgear router using Ethernet then you definately could desire to set the workstation as much as share it is information superhighway connection. it would be extra useful to purchase a netgear router that's composed of ADSL ethernet and prompt and shop the sagem as a backup gadget.

So, 2 routers in the same house? that is allowed...one dsl to one router, then the second router connects to the first....you will be best getting routers of the same brand, but refer to the instruction manuals for hooking it all together
