Both, because when they use racial slur it makes them ignorant and stupid, when they think about deadly thoughts to wipe out a whole race it's both, when they advertise on a chat/answers and etc what they feel about another race it's both. =)

honestly i believe it's a little of both but it's really more a case of ignorance. more or less in some people. you can be a genius and still be ignorant on some subjects. i agree that many people who are racist are also stupid (you would have to be to join a hate group in this day and age) but it's mostly ignorance of other cultures. but since the basic definition of stupid is having a low i.q. then some of them wouldn't really fall into that category. but ignorance means a lack of knowledge and understanding on certain subjects. in this case other races and cultures beyond their own, and unfortunately many fear what they do not understand. that's why i firmly believe that the best way to end racism in our society is through education. black history month and websites and television shows, etc. are a great start but they aren't enough to reach some people. it must begin at home. parents have to teach their children that race doesn't apply to behavior and their are good and bad people of ALL colors. and when i see a parent laugh when their child says a racist joke that they heard at school or elsewhere i just want smack them! they won't think it's funny one day when their children are grown and so eaten up inside by hate that it destroys their life. in short i do believe that it's mostly ignorance and education, not feeding the flames with more hate, is the only way to end it.

Racism is a organic phenomenon via fact human beings inherently do no longer understand a thank you to handle people who are not their very very own. it extremely is as much as society to purpose to coach people who racism is a ineffective reaction, and on an identical time as maximum of this is attributed to trouble-free lack of know-how (no longer stupidity), there are nonetheless some lingering lines of racist innovations that is based in fact. I, as an occasion, get in greater potential automobile injuries with asian women than I do the different social team, persevering with the stereotype that neither women or Asians understand a thank you to force. is this assumption effortless? for sure this is not, whether it extremely is whether or no longer in accordance with commentary. maximum racism is in accordance with lack of know-how, a number of it extremely is in accordance with instinct, and regrettably a number of it extremely is in accordance with fairly activities.

Both. Ignorance is just when you don't know something. Stupidity is when you have the option to know, but you'd rather not and stay in the dark.
People would rather go through their lives and keep the same views their fathers had. It's just easier. No thinking involved.

Both ignorance and stupidity. It's stupid to base an opinion on someone's race, and maybe people do this because they haven't been exposed to people of other races in order to know them personally & develop real relationships.

There is an idiot on this site (DJH, formerly known as impact) who ridicules me because I am African-American and Cherokee Indian. He has sent me racist e-mails telling me to "get the chip of my shoulder" and is an advocate against the racist "one-drop theory." The ironic thing is that he claims to have college degrees, and yet he is supportive of the one drop theory. I will not compromise my cultural identity for anyone! I'm not just black, and not just indian. I am a black indian. So, to answer your question, racism is both stupidity and ignorance. DJH embodies both.

Racism is more of a hatred to another race. I believe it has a lot of ignorence and stupidity to hate some one by the color of his skin. Like Martin Luther King's quote:
" I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. "

Maliciousness
It is done in an effort to subjugate another human in an effort to raise one's self to a higher state. It is cruel, but they know that. They simply don't care because they feel it somehow gives them status.

It comes from ignorance, for one if people give it thought they would realize there's only one race--the human race, and the world is made up of different ethnic & cultural groups.
People who are "racist" have either been taught to be so by their elders who were fearful of people who didn't look like them, whose culture they're unfamiliar with and second they may have been isolated from ppl of diff. ethnicities and are fearful of diff. ppl
If you look at history racism stems from ignorance but also fear of the unknown, and ppl usually overcome their racist beliefs by being open minded twd. diff. ppl & being open to learning about others by interacting w/ ppl who are different
