So what do u all think I should do the paper on? I think I want to do the paper on a person that ruled or had a major impact on society during this time period...any suggestions?!

How about England's King Henry VIII (1491-1547) who ruled from 1509 to his death?? He was a very colorful historical person, the second monarch of the House of Tudor. He was also known for having 6 wives;
CATHERINE OF ARAGON--Henry had their 24- year marriage annulled because she had been his brother's wife first, so it was invalid, and also because all of their 5 sons died in childhood, leaving only a daughter (later Queen Mary I) as heiress. The true reason was the affair he was having with another woman who would let the affair go no further unless she was Queen.
ANNE BOLEYN--the mistress just mentioned. She could not give him a second child (their daughter later became Queen Elizabeth I), so Henry had her beheaded as punishment after being accused and convicted of incest, adultery, witchcraft and treason. However, the main reason was he wanted to marry someone else. People believed she was a witch because she wore the same necklace every day supposedly to hide an "evil mark" and that she had 6 fingers on one hand.
JANE SEYMOUR--she gave him his only male heir (Edward VI), but she died a short time later due to "childbirth fever."
ANNE OF CLEVES--she was queen only 6 months. The marriage was annulled because they had not slept together the entire time. She was given the name "The King's Sister" and moved into Hever Castle--family home of his former in-laws, the Boleyns. She became a good friend to Henry and his children.
CATHERINE (or KATHERINE) HOWARD--was known as the "rose without a thorn". Henry deprived her of the title of Queen after he found out she'd committed adultery and had her beheaded at the Tower of London. She was buried next to her cousin, Anne Boleyn. People often said her ghost haunted Henry for years, and others have heard her screaming.
CATHERINE PARR--the only one of his wives to survive him, she was also known as the most married Queen of England (in all, she had 4 husbands). She had one daughter, Mary, but died in childbirth. There are no records showing Mary living past the age of 2.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_VIII_of_England has a nice, long article on him and all of his wives and accomplishments--like unifying England and Wales.

I agree with Scraggles on Martin Luther.

Other suggestions: Julius Caesar, Lorenzo de Medici, King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain.

I take A.P. U.S. History, and I wrote a paper focusing on the mistakes Hitler made during WWII that led to his failure. It's a very interesting topic to research and there is a ton of information on it. Also, it's different than most papers you will read about Hitler.

Well, this is hard to answer since I don't know who you studied :) I suggest King Tut, if you studied him...there is a lot of information about him and he really turned his people around after they snubbed his dear ole dad.
