When I was a teen 0ver 40 yrs ago you just did what you were told & didn't question it. I don't think it was the right way to raise children & I suffer from depression now at 57. If you have no close friends & can't talk to your parents , I would suggest talking to a school counsellor about your feeling & perhaps they can get you some help before your depression gets any worse. Isolation is a symptom of depression & it's not good to spend so much time alone. Please find someone you can talk to. Good Luck to you! You have your whole life ahead of you so you need to get some help now!!!

Watching my teens, it seems that teens are too concerned about what others think.
I realized really early that what others think doesn't matter, it is what I THINK that matters. Looks, what brand jeans or sneakers.......I REALLY STOPPED CARING! It was the best move. I found I can buy 5 or 6 jeans for what others were paying in order to "fit in".
these are the years of peer pressure. Don't let it get to you. It is why I still smoke 20 years after high school.....it was the in thing to do, now I wish I didn't care sooner!
you are the master of yourself, no one owns you. Be yourself and don't run with the herd.....

I sure would not want to go back to being a teen. Nothing seemed to work and nothing was the way I thought it should be.
I do not know how I ever survived those years. Sure made a lot of mistkes.

understanding how small and insignificant your problems are compared to the rest of your life and compared to some other peoples problems. In a few years, months, weeks or even days your problems will probably turn into nothing more than a distant memory.

I smoked a lot of weed. And by a lot I mean I went an entire year where I smoked at least 1 time every day for 365 straight days.

I wrote poetry. Like everything else in my life, it was based on raw emotion. Which later got me into trouble.

I remember crying a lot. Crying a whole lot. If I wasn't crying I was laughing hysterically. No, I wasn't mental, just overtly emotional. And to tell the truth the crying almost always got me what I wanted!!!!! AND STILL DOES!!! (Oh crap, my secret is out lol!!!)

I did that too! Wrote poetry. Kept a journal. Started smoking cigarettes. Cried. Scratched at my skin with needles. Skipped class to go to the park...
GOD! I was sooo angsty! I shudder to think what I'm gonna go through with MY children!
AAAAUGH!
