In the case described i listened to my mother when she said not to touch cuz its hot, and but it wasnt until my father told me to touch the cigarette lighter (and i, being an impressionable child at the time burned my finger) that i finally understood y. when it comes to school i learn by doing, reading and listening to someone tell u how it works is just too boring

I love hands on so yes I do touch the fire to see if it is hot!

I come near to touching it. But I usually get stopped by my grandma who freaks out about everything. But I do things like that to tease her. I wouldn't ACTUALLY do it, because I already know what happens. ; )
But there's alot of things that I like to find out by my self. And sometimes it's not a very good idea. But it's alot more fun that way. ; )
