The 2nd Router you have connected to the Lan port on the first must be either set up to NOT DISTRIBUTE IP'S
or if it has the capability set up in WDS mode.

You will need to configure your router. Right now you have a small network at your house. And a router might be assigning IP addresses on start up.

My question is why you would need 2 routers.

Why not a multiport switch you wouldn't have any problems if you had the router connecting the Internet and a switch controlling your internal network

your solution is: turn the DHCP server funtion OFF to the secondary router, and, do not use the Wan port on the secondary router at all. the easiest thing to do: change the secondary router for a switch, easy and simple. about $25 for a 5 port switch.

as far as I remember from configurig similiar contraptions (ASUS WL 500G it replaced into) it has to have 3 modes: residing house community, router and get entry to element. it is going to be set as router first. Then - RTFM.
