it's not weird. You like the name
Consider this...Most people don't use their middle names so you are "safe " there.
I have people in my family that actually have the same first name but the middle name is different - they are brothers!
If it feels right to you .. do it!
At least Madison is a "normal" name!

Well it really depends on how old the other girl is. You wouldn't want to confuse the kids at a young age. Or bring up a spot of jealousy. The elder one might feel as if she can't have something that is hers and it might make her a bit upset. Think about about other names you like if you can't find a better name, go for it. But who knows, you might find something you enjoy better.
BTW I am certainly not hating on the name Madison because my two year old daughters name is Rachael Madison, so don't think that is why I am sort of opposing the whole name issue.

Yes, very weird. I don't mean this to be negative, but it sort of comes across as if you used up all your favorite names on your first daughter, and didn't bother to make an effort coming up with something you like equally for this one. Instead, you're just recycling an already-used name rather than giving her one of her own, know what I mean.
Especially when Madison is so common to begin with -- top ten! -- so she'll already have to share her name with friends, classmates, coworkers, etc. She should at least be the only one in her own household, right?
If it's the sound you're drawn to, what about something similar like Madeline, Madeleine (mad-e-LEN), Magdalene, Matilda, Megan, Mairenn (MAWR-en, rhymes with Lauren), Mairwen (MIER-wen), Maren, Marion/Marian, Marilyn, Addison (also very common), Alison, etc.?
Hope that helps!

How about Addison? It is close and wouldn't be weird for the sister. Maybe if you used Addison you could give her a middle name that kind of sounded like her sister's first name. That would be cute, but not matchy enough to get on the kid's nerves later in life.

yeah, that is odd. I have a friend who gave both of her sons the same middle name and now they are both adults and hate that there is no individuality there. A little more creativity would go a long way.
Try a sound alike name such as Adison. then you have the same flair, but a different name.

I would NOT name your new baby Madison if it's her sister's middle name. When they are older it could cause a fuss.
