If you mean governmental tyranny, yes, it would be more difficult. Advances in technology would give the government an edge in a fight against rebellion. Advances in munitions would give the government an advantage, also.

It's harder to rebel today than in the late 18th century because people have grown more complacent -- especially Americans. Since most Americans have the most basic of necessities (if you want to argue on this, research the standard measures of living in third world countries), there isn't much that confronts us and makes us want to react. We're way too caught up in whatever the media presents. We're too busy living to work for that HDTv and high end digital camera-phone that is not a NEED.

Plain and simple, we're way too caught up in our own lives that if an issue does not and will not have a DIRECT effect on our individual means of living, we could care less.

One reason is complacency in that everyone at least in America are comfortable with their job and status. To risk losing that is something most will not do. Believe me I lost my job standing up for what I believe before. I cannot now because I have a family to care for. But I would love to do it again if I could. Back in the 1800s in England their were people called public agitators who spoke out against injustice openly and publicly.

There is a way to will however using accountability to hold politicians feet to the fire. Going to their voter districts and working the grassroots can help fight some of the tyranny.

Sure it would. They have an army with nuclear weapons, almost 95% lived on farms and were self sustaining, and it is against the Constitution of the US, yet this was wriiten into my states constitution! Very similar to the language in the Declaration of Independence!

[Art.] 10. [Right of Revolution.] Government being instituted for the common benefit, protection, and security, of the whole community, and not for the private interest or emolument of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore, whenever the ends of government are perverted, and public liberty manifestly endangered, and all other means of redress are ineffectual, the people may, and of right ought to reform the old, or establish a new government. The doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power, and oppression, is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind.

Yes. There are more people and it is hard to find those that would stand. Once you found them you have massive police forces. You also are handicapped by not being able to own military style weapons.

Now all of this can be over come but you need organization. And guess what that is illegal.

Life is easy, and most people are to frightened to give up the comforts of life to fight for a cause, But that was the same prior to the American revolution, but they did revolt they went against the odds and won. They went up against a government who did not have interest in their welfare just like our present government, who seem to be more interested in the welfare of Mexico's poor, than that of the US citizen.

Yes because of technology advancements and the political corruption that runs so deep. We have more military, more police. Everything that could be used for a revolution is closely guarded by the government.

That would depend upon what country you're talking about. In an industrialized nation, next to impossible. With all the survailence and video I would think that it would be all but futile.
