Recently when I was driving at night with my cousin, she noticed something I kept doing. Everytime I pass a house at night with its lights on and curtains open I slow down and totally gawk. I don't know what I'm looking for, or why I even look for that matter.

Do you like to look too? Do you know why? Have you ever seen anything interesting??

I also like to go to open houses (especially in my neighborhood) even though I am not in the market to buy. I usually have something prescripted to tell the agent, like oh we're looking for more space or such.

I also go to estate sales just to see the inside of the home! Sometimes I'll buy some junk so I don't look obvious.

Anyone else guilty of this voyeuristic/nosey behaviour?

la mas deseada: ROFL!!!!!!

And no, folks I'm not a pervert and my sex life is sexy :) I'm sexy too, or at least I like to think so!!

Maybe 'voyeur' is the wrong term, I'm certainly not getting all hot and bothered peeping and nosing around. But, I think ya'll get what I'm sayin' here, right?? I dunno what the correct term would be besides nosy! Funny thing I don't really care WHAT they are doing, that's their biz. I just like to look. That sounds bad...lol. I'm a big people watcher so this falls into that category I think.....

My dear hubby is right there with me too, in fact he's worse than I am!!

I think we all are, to a certain extent. It's what makes fiction, television drama, and movies possible.

I don't think it's abnormal, although not everyone has that sort of curiosity. Most reasonably intelligent people do to a degree, however. Ever seen a car wreck? Ever watch in fascination as it happened? (The last one I saw I was in.}

Yeah, I guess i kinda am. I do the whole estate thing too. when houses go up for sale that I like, I check em out. The whole window thing, I've only done a couple of times and yes, I saw some "interesting" things. Enough to make me second guess turning my head to see inside someone's window!

LMFAO. I do that, too. I especially like garage-saling, too, for partly this reason. I like to see the way others have their houses arranged and the things they owned and imagine what it would be like to live there or to be that other person. Being in someone's house is sort of like getting to feel what it is or was to *be* him/her and see what s/he sees every day. I mean, the home - to Americans, at least - is a very private place, kept carefully and distinctly separate from the "public."

When I gawk in windows on passing, I think I'm hoping to actually catch someone walking about or doing the dishes or sitting at the laptop or something. No one really has any idea how any other person acts or what s/he does in his/her home when there's nobody around - unless, of course, they spy. Because, obviously, if you were there to watch and the other person knew it, it would affect his/her behavior. It would be "people around" behavior, not genuine home behavior.

Plus I'm a people-watcher. I think moderate window-gawking is an extension of this.

Viewing open homes is not voyeurism. Voyeurism refers to purposely seeing people in states of undress and sexual acts.

It is human sexual behaviour involving achievement of sexual arousal through viewing the sexual activities of others or through watching others disrobe. To some extent voyeurism is widespread; various types of sexual display are a normal part of sexual attraction and mating behaviour in most animals, including humans, but voyeurism is considered a deviant behaviour. Most of the time, the people seen are unaware of the viewer.

The sex fairy says you need a sexy life. Just get one.

Sex for Shark!

EDIT - Sex fairy is saying you just need to do some fun things - like sexy time - instead of watching people in their homes. Sex fairy has dark burgundy curtains so people like you don't look inside her castle. Try this - less watching, more doing.

Sex for you! (and your husband)

EDIT 2 -

No sex for the thumbs down people. 13 years! HAHA!

You'd like living in San Francisco. It seems that nobody draws their curtains closed at night.

I admit it - when I lived there, I slowed down and gawked.

You wouldn't believe what people do in their living rooms in San Francisco - and I'm talking about the STRAIGHT ones.

Troll-Shark™ - If you're having sex, I'm right there with you!
