I didn't find his standup routines to be funny but I did like his role as Latka Gravas on the sitcom Taxi.

Andy Kaufman was truly, a very funny man... he just had a wee bit of a warped sense of humor. If you want a little insight into the story of Andy Kaufman, watch the movie, "Man on the Moon". It's really good. :)
