My landlord turned off the natural gas so that i could turn it on in my name. i moved in the home about 2 and a half months ago and i havent turned on my natural gas yet. Ive had hot water since ive moved in so i was delaying to turn on the natural gas. now two and a half months later, all of a sudden i dont have hot water. what do you think this could be? Do you think this could be because of not having my gas on? and if so, how could i have had hot water before this happened?

You took advantage of his grace period and you're complaining now? Wow, what a jerk. Why didn't you do your part of the deal like the other person said? You just gave your landlord a bad impression and he/she will be very apprehensive of you from now on. Too bad for you.

If you have had hot water up till now either the gas was never actually turned off or your water heater uses some other fuel such as electric or oil. In the latter case, the problem has nothing to do with whether you turned the gas on or not. It is an unrelated problem. If it is electric you may have a thrown breaker. Your landlord should help you determine what the problem is and how to fix it.
